Srinagar Airport’s shorter flight hours of 8 am to 5 pm continue until July 31, due to an Indian Air Force runway upgrade that began on April 6.
This marks a temporary shift from the airport’s usual operating hours of 8 am to 10 pm.
Around 60 flights, covering arrivals and departures, normally operate at the airport each day within the standard window.
The shortened hours are intended to support the runway upgrade, aimed at improving operational efficiency and safety.
Authorities have indicated that flight frequency is expected to increase in line with the summer schedule approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation once the work is finished.
